Patient care that keeps going when the signal drops.
CareMesh is a hospital app for nurses, doctors and clerks in low-resource hospitals. It runs on cheap Android phones, works with no network at all, and syncs safely when a 2G signal comes back. It is free for hospitals, and your support keeps it that way.
- Works fully offline
- Syncs on 2G
- Free for hospitals
The problem
Many hospitals still run on paper and patchy signal.
Staff carry phones, but the systems around them were not built for the places they work.
Paper records
Charts on clipboards get lost, doses are missed between shifts, and supervisors hear about problems days later.
Patchy 2G
Connections drop for hours or last thirty seconds. Most hospital software stops working the moment that happens.
Shared phones
One ward phone may pass between six nurses in a shift. Each person must still be recorded for what they did.
No history between sites
A patient moved from a health centre to a district hospital often arrives with no record of what was already given.
In 2021, about 4.5 billion people, more than half of the world, were not fully covered by essential health services.

How it works offline
Write first. Sync later. Never lose a record.
Record on the ward
A nurse records vitals, gives a dose or completes a task. It is saved on the phone at once, in an encrypted database, with no network needed.
Keep working through the outage
Reminders for due doses still fire from the phone. Staff switch users with a 4-digit PIN, and every action stays attributed to the right person.
Sync when the signal returns
Changes travel in small compressed batches that can finish on a 2G connection. Both directions, safely repeatable, with clear rules when two people edited the same record.
Who uses it
One shared record for the whole care team.
Each person sees what their role needs, on the phone they already have.
Nurses
My patients, due tasks, medication rounds, vitals with an early-warning score, and a one-tap alert to a doctor.
Doctors
Ward rounds, orders from a bundled medicines list with dose checks, and discharge summaries.
Supervisors
Shift assignments, overdue work across the ward, and an automatic handover report.
Registration clerks
Find or register a patient, check for duplicates, and print a QR patient card.
Lab and radiography
Lab results and imaging requests that reach the care team, even across sites.
Pharmacy
Verify medication orders, dispense, and flag stock-outs before they reach the ward.
Hospital management
A web dashboard with a live ward board, key measures and an audit trail.
Patients
A QR card that opens their record at any site of the hospital network, and SMS reminders for follow-up visits.

Roadmap
Honest status: built, pilot next.
No hospital uses CareMesh yet. Here is what exists today and what comes next.
- Built
Phone app, web dashboard and server, with offline sync, medication rounds, lab, pharmacy, imaging, billing and SMS reminders. Automated tests run on every change.
- Pilot next
One ward at one hospital with 5 to 10 low-cost phones, an independent security review, and staff training on site.
- Scale
More wards and sites, device-to-device sync for places with no signal at all, and ministry-of-health reporting.
Help keep CareMesh free for the hospitals that need it most.
